The island of Lastovo is an island in the south of Croatia, located in South Dalmatia and administratively belongs to Dubrovnik-Neretva County. The ferry port is located in Ubli, and the nearest airports are in Split and Dubrovnik.

DESTINATIONS - THAT IS PLACES IN THE REGION/ISLAND

The magic number for the island of Lastovo is 46. The island is surrounded by 46 islets, on which there are 46 fields and 46 churches. Famous places on the island are: Lastovo (specifically not by the sea but in the heart of the island), Pasadur (on the west side of the island, where the only hotel on the island of Solitudo is located), Ubli (the place where the ferry port is), Skrivena Luka (one of the largest and most beautiful bays, on the southern side of the island) and Zaklopatica (on the northern side of the island).

CULTURE

The island was inhabited thousands of years ago, the first known inhabitants were the Illyrians. In later years, the government of the island often changed, after the Second World War the island entered the framework of Yugoslavia, and thus Croatia. Lastovo offers numerous sights and cultural heritage that are definitely worth visiting, we will mention: the beautiful Lastovo Islands Nature Park (also the youngest nature park in Croatia), Rača Cave (on the southeastern part of the island), Sušac Lighthouse, Church of St. Luke (the oldest church on the island), Lastovski fumari, Knežev dvor (Palac).

BEACHES

On the island of Lastovo, the sea is crystal clear, and the coves are hidden under thick pine trees that provide shade. Whichever bay you choose, you won't go wrong, we will list some of the many possibilities: The hidden port hides the beaches of Mali žal and Portorosso (in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant of the same name), both beaches are suitable for children, there is also the beautifully decorated concrete beach Pionir in the village of Ubli and Saplun- the most famous and beautiful sandy beach on the islet of Mladine, which leaves tourists breathless

The island of Lastovo offers an authentic experience of the Adriatic. Superb gastronomy and local wines, beautiful bays, crystal clear sea and numerous opportunities for recreation are just some of the reasons to visit this beautiful, above all fairytale island. We will mention some famous restaurants and taverns where you can try top seafood delicacies: tavern - pizzeria "Pece" in Ubli, tavern "Malo Lago" in Pasadur, tavern "Augusta Insula" in Zaklopatica and tavern Fumari in Lastovo. Nightlife is full of rich and interesting content, various concerts and events are held, and there are also nightclubs.

SIGHTSEEING, EXCURSIONS

There is a wide range of choices when it comes to excursions to Lastova because in fact the entire Lastovo archipelago was declared a nature park in 2006 (the youngest Croatian nature park). Each bay hides its own uniqueness and beauty, we will list some destinations that we definitely recommend you visit: organized fish picnics on the islet of Mladine (Saplun beach), the town of Lastovo, Rača cave (on the southeastern part of the island).
