BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION

Klek is a small coastal town located right next to the border of the Republic of Croatia with Bosnia and Herzegovina. It belongs to the municipality of Slivno in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. The traffic connections are ideal, considering that Klek is located on the main road between Dubrovnik and Split. Split is about 80 km away. km, and 70 km to Dubrovnik. The nearest airport is Čilipi-Dubrovnik, about 90 km away.

CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS

Klek became an independent settlement in 1981, separating from part of the settlement of Slivno, to whose municipality it still belongs today. There are numerous historical sights in Klek, we will list some: the fortress "Smrdan grad" near which necropolises of stećak tombstones - stone tombstones from the Middle Ages were found ,Nonković Tower - a tall quadrangular tower from the Venetian era, and the newer church of St. Peter and Paul built in 2004.

BEACHES

A large pebble beach stretches along the village. The beach is beautifully decorated and offers various options from renting umbrellas, deck chairs, bicycles to renting scooters and pedal boats. There are other villages nearby with also beautiful beaches, the famous Moračna-pješčana beach and bay with untouched nature and olive groves, it is located south of Klek.

Klek, as a beautiful small coastal town, besides cultural heritage and beaches, also offers a rich catering offer, with several restaurants, pizzerias, and cafes at your service. We will mention the Boarding House Kozina, a very famous and praised restaurant. There is also an art gallery in the town called "Stećak" ", while a long, illuminated promenade stretches along the sea - Lungo Mare, which is particularly busy and visited in the evening hours.

SPORT

The town has four tennis courts, a children's playground, and a mini-golf and table tennis court. So, in addition to swimming and water recreation, tourists can also enjoy various other ways of recreation.

WHAT TO DO AND EXCURSION OPPORTUNITIES

There are organized day trips, some of them by boat to the Neretva River mouth, the Pelješac peninsula and the town of Mali Ston. As Klek is an ideal tourist destination because of everything it offers and because of its geographical position, numerous towns and therefore numerous sights are nearby, to name a few. We will list some of the locations worth visiting: Dubrovnik, Mljet, Korčula, the Neretva Delta, and in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina, Međugorje and the old bridge in Mostar, among others.
