BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION

Splitska is a small town on the northern coast of the island of Brač, 3 kilometers east of Supetar. Splitska is located in the bay of the same name. According to the last census, it has 402 inhabitants who are oriented towards tourism, agriculture and fishing. The proximity of Supetar and the ferry port allows residents and visitors to make multi-day trips to Split, and one of the options for getting to Splitska is via Brač airport.

CULTURE; HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS

Splitska developed as a settlement in the 16th century, after its foundation in the 13th century when it was destroyed by pirates from Omiš. In ancient times, there was a port in Spilitska from which stone from Brač was exported for the construction of Diocletian's Palace. Near the town, in the Rasohe quarry, you can still see a relief of Hercules carved into the rock. The town also has a church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary in Stomorna from the 13th century. It is also worth mentioning the Cerinić family castle from the 16th century and the remains of the church of St. Jadra on the road to Škrip from the 5th century.

BEACHES

Numerous rocky beaches surrounded by pine forests stretch along the coast, and the most visited are in the bays of Splitska and Zastup.

OTHER CONTENT

During the season, fishermen's festivals, folk entertainment and various concerts are organized. For gastronomic delights, look for restaurants Vala, Galerija Food, Gušt i Gyorgy i Gabor or the tavern Kod Tonća. They offer local specialties, fresh fish and local wine. For nightlife, you will have to look in Supetar.

SPORT

Lovers of active holidays can enjoy sea life and diving, as well as cycling or walking. Nearby Supetar, the centre of the island, offers additional facilities such as extreme water sports, a slide for the youngest and boat rentals.

In addition to touring Brač, you can also go to Split, but also to the islands of Brač, Hvar or Vis from Supetar, where several boat or speedboat rental companies organize one-day trips.
