BASIC INFORMATION

Korčula is a town located on the eastern coast of the island of the same name, belonging to the southernmost Croatian region of Dubrovnik-Neretva. The transport connections are extremely good. You can reach Korčula by bus, plane - the nearest airports are Dubrovnik and Split, or by car from Zagreb to the ferry ports of Split, Dubrovnik and from Dubrovnik to the ferry port of Orebić (Pelješac), then continue to Korčula by regular boat lines.

HISTORY, CULTURE AND ATTRACTIONS

The area of present-day Korčula was settled by the Slavs in the 7th century. One of the most famous stories from Korčula is related to the legendary Marco Polo, who is believed to have been born in Korčula. His house is one of the cultural heritage sites that are part of the tourist offer of Korčula. There are also numerous other sights to mention: St. Mark's Cathedral, the town hall, the massive city walls, the Head of St. Anthony, etc. Here you can really see many sights that have a rich history.

BEACHES

There is a wide selection of beaches in Korčula, we will mention some of the more famous ones: Banje is the oldest city pebble beach, just a 5-minute walk from the city center, Luka Korčula is a sandy beach considered one of the most beautiful beaches in this area, ideal for families, and Zakerjan beach (old town).

Korčula, in addition to beautiful beaches and rich cultural heritage, also has a great gastronomic offer - the Filippi restaurant, the Marco Polo tavern, the Fish'N'Go restaurant, the Silk tavern are just some of the options. There are numerous coffee bars where you can sip your favorite drinks and enjoy the view, while for nightlife lovers there is the Boogie Jungle nightclub, which is open until the early hours of the morning.

SPORT

In Korčula, you can recreate in various ways besides swimming, there is also the Dupin diving center as well as the Oreb club-sail and windsurf. The semi-submarine that allows you to discover the underwater world is also a real attraction for tourists, of course there are numerous sports fields in the city as well as cycling and hiking trails.

SIGHTSEEING, EXCURSIONS

In addition to sightseeing this beautiful historic city, we recommend that you go on one of the organized excursions, for example: a trip to Dubrovnik, Mljet National Park, Lastovo Nature Park, neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina and Međugorje, or the Pelješac peninsula - there is a truly wide range of choices.

Korčula also has the Port 9 camp and the Vrbovica camp (only 6 km away), and there is also a ferry port and a marina in the town.
