BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION

Medulin is a town and tourist center located in the south of Istria, 10 kilometers southwest of Pula. Medulin is accessible by road from Split or Zagreb, and arrivals from abroad can be via the border crossings with Slovenia and Italy. The nearest train station is Pula, where you can can also be reached by regular line from Ljubljana. The nearest airport is also in Pula. However, the port of Medulin is more intended for local boats and local shipping lines, so its sea traffic is more closely linked to the region.

CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS

The remains of culture in the Medulin area date back to prehistoric times, as evidenced by the Neolithic sites of the Vižula Archaeological Park and Vrčevan. In the Vižula Archaeological Park, you can see the remains of a Roman residence from the time of Constantine the Great, about which there is a very popular interactive play, Crispo. The Church of Our Lady of Health which dates from the 15th century and is adorned with preserved frescoes. The ancient cemetery and the pre-Romanesque sculpture on the hill of St. Peter are also worth noting. From the more recent history of the city, the church of St. Agnes with two beautiful bell towers dating from the 19th century can be highlighted.

BEACHES

Medulin and its Riviera are famous for their sandy, pebble and rocky beaches which are a wonderful place to relax. Some of the more famous beaches are Skrape, Bijeca, Belvedere, Centinera, Alba Chiara and the Premanture beach near Cape Kamenjak. The Medulin archipelago consists of 11 islands (Ceja, Levan and Bodulaš are the most famous) which provide an opportunity for relaxation for those who want to enjoy the charms of untouched nature.

OTHER CONTENT

The restaurants Boccaporta, Fra-Kat, Miramare, Ancora or Oliveto and the taverns Batelina and Istriana will offer visitors the pleasure of fresh ingredients and authentic Istrian cuisine. Medulin is also very famous for its olive oil, and beer lovers can look forward to the Medulin Craft Beer Fest every year - a regional craft beer festival. Clubs Imperial, Joy, Dali and Medulin Summer Club are places for nightlife. For beachside fun, you can visit bars like the beach bar Barracuda, Bikini, Havana and Sunshine. Adria Summer is one of the many music events in Medulin on featuring some of the world's leading and regional musicians.

SPORT

The Medulin archipelago and untouched nature are an ideal place for lovers of diving, sailing and other marine activities. Adrenalin Park Medulin offers many outdoor activities. Near Medulin there are ranches with horses that can be a form of activity in nature. Windsurfing and outdoor yoga are increasingly popular options for active vacations, and Wake Park Pomer offers the enjoyment of wakeboarding, an increasingly popular sport.

WHAT TO DO – EXCURSION OPPORTUNITIES

Cape Kamenjak is certainly the first choice for excursions due to its beautiful untouched nature. A special experience is visiting Cape Kamenjak while diving in the so-called half-day "snorkling" excursion. Big Game Fishing, a fishing event, will attract fishing enthusiasts. Golumbera Cave and the Porer Lighthouse are just some of the of the interesting things to do during a tourist boat ride around the Medulin archipelago, and special attractions include a submarine trip during which you can explore the underwater world and sightseeing via panoramic flights. Brijuni National Park is near Medulin and can be reached quickly.

ACCOMMODATION

The hotels Belvedere, Sensimar, Holiday, Koral and the tourist resort Ai Pini Medulin are the leading places for receiving guests. Accommodation can also be found at many private apartment rental companies. There are several campsites available, and one of the most beautiful is Kamp Arena Medulin. ACI Marina Pomer is open all year round and is very popular.
