BASIC INFORMATION

Orebić is a settlement and municipality in the southwest of the Pelješac peninsula, it is the largest town on the peninsula and belongs to the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Orebić can be reached by highway from the direction of Zagreb and Split, continue to Ploče, then take a ferry or the Adriatic Highway, also an option is the airport in Dubrovnik or the boat that connects Dubrovnik, Rijeka and Split, the bus also operates there are lines to Sarajevo, Zagreb and Dubrovnik.

CULTURE, HISTORY AND ATTRACTIONS

Orebić has always developed as a maritime center, it was founded in the early 16th century and was then under the administration of the then Dubrovnik Republic. The cultural attractions on Pelješac are truly endless, in Orebić you can witness beautiful scenes and numerous attractions, over 40 churches and chapels are located in the municipality of Orebić, we will mention: the hill of St. Elijah, the monastery of Our Lady of the Angels with a lookout and the maritime museum located on the promenade by the sea.

BEACHES

Trstenica, located in the eastern part of the settlement, is the largest and most famous city beach. It is a combination of gravel and sand and offers numerous activities and opportunities, among other things you can rent pedal boats, kayaks, try windsurfing, surfing, etc. As for beaches, the choice is certainly large, considering that smaller beaches and coves stretch along the entire town.

OTHER CONTENT

Orebić occasionally offers klapa and Dalmatian evenings, the more famous cafes are Caballero, Orebeach and Amfora, where young people gather most during the summer. The nightlife is satisfactory, there are also parties on the beaches, for those looking for a slightly larger selection of nightclubs there is Korčula, which is only a few minutes away by boat. There are numerous pizzerias and restaurants, so the gastronomic offer is at an enviable level, the following are very popular: Konoba Andiamo, Pizzeria La Casa and the restaurant Stari kapetan. The Pelješac wines are certainly worth mentioning, considering that the history of winemaking in this area is very important.

SPORT

In addition to swimming, surfing, sea skiing, rowing and other water recreation, you can also go hiking, rent a bike, run (there are organized routes) or simply walk along the beautiful promenades along the sea.

In addition to the numerous historical and cultural attractions in the village itself, it is also worth visiting other places on the peninsula and the surrounding towns. There are organized excursions to: Dubrovnik, Međugorje and Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), a tour of the entire Pelješac peninsula, Mljet, etc.
