BASIC INFORMATION AND LOCATION

South Dalmatia is a region located in the very south of the Adriatic Sea. The center of the region is the city of Dubrovnik - a UNESCO protected monument and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In addition to good sea and road connections, there is a good air connection, considering that Čilipi airport is located only 22 km from the center of Dubrovnik.

CULTURE, HISTORY AND SIGHTS

Dalmatia got its name from the Illyrian tribe Dalmati in the 1st century. ex. Kr, they inhabited the area of present-day Dalmatia before the arrival of the Slavs. The area of southern Dalmatia fascinates with its unique culture, sights and, of course, beautiful beaches. We will mention the championship Dubrovnik, one of the most prominent and culturally and touristically developed cities in Southeastern Europe, there are also the Elaphite Islands, Mljet National Park, Lastovo Nature Park and numerous other sights.

BEACHES

South Dalmatia offers a wide variety of fairytale beaches. Banje beach is Dubrovnik's most famous beach, it has been included in the category of the world's most beautiful beaches several times, the Lapad beaches located in the Lapad bay, and the family beach with various facilities, Copacabana, are equally famous. It is also worth mentioning the sandy beach Šunj on the island of Lopud, and the beach Saplunara on the southeastern part of the island of Mljet.

OTHER CONTENTS

There is a rich offer of nightlife in the region, various concerts for young people are held, the party is not limited only to closed spaces, but is extended to campsites and beaches. Revelin is the most famous night club in Dubrovnik, moreover, every year it is ranked in the top 100 clubs in the world. A healthy diet is characteristic both for the whole of Dalmatia and for this region, seafood and vegetables prevail, there are numerous taverns and restaurants throughout the region. The most beautiful and most visited places for daily coffee or refreshing drinks are definitely the coffee & cocktail bars located on the beaches.

WHAT TO DO AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXCURSIONS

South Dalmatia offers natural beauty that enchants tourists and makes them come back again. Croatia has ten nature parks and eight National Parks, most of which are located in Dalmatia. There are various organized sightseeing tours that you can sign up for, including Mljet National Park, Lastovo Nature Park, the city-monument of Korčula on the island of the same name, the walls of Ston and numerous other beautiful locations that this region offers.

SPORT

In addition to being active by swimming and diving, you can also use the footpaths and enjoy long walks and rediscover the beauty of this region, cycling is also one of the options as there are numerous cycle paths. In most places, there are various sports fields available as well as fitness centers.

Accommodation in South Dalmatia includes hotels, luxury apartments, private houses and villas with swimming pools. We will mention only some of the hotels in the center of the Dubrovnik region: Hilton Imperial, Valamar Dubrovnik President, Neptun. We have a marina and port for ships and yachts in Dubrovnik and Korčula, a marina is also located in Orebić, while we also have ports in Ston, Mljet and Lastovo. There are several camps and mini camps in the region, we will mention: Nevio camp, Adriatic camp, Lupis mini camp, all three are near Orebić.
