DESTINATIONS
The most famous tourist destination on Brač is the small town of Bol with the famous Zlatni rat beach. It is followed by the largest town on the island of Supetar (about 4,000 inhabitants), Postira, Sutivan, Milna, Pučišća, and the smaller towns of Splitska, Mirca, Bobovišća, Sumartin and Povlja. We can say that tourists sleep the least in places that are not on the sea: Nerežišća, Gornji Humac, Selca, Donji Humac, Škrip and Pražnica. However, there are many good restaurants and rural households in these places, so they are visited by many tourists.
CULTURE, HISTORY AND SIGHTS
Brač was inhabited as early as the Paleolithic, while it was inhabited by the Illyrians in the Bronze and Iron Ages. Nowadays, it has about 15,000 inhabitants, while in 1900 it had 24,000 inhabitants. Many people from Brač live in North and South America. Brač has the highest peak of all the Adriatic islands, Vidova Gora, 778 meters high, so it is worth visiting that viewpoint. In addition, it is worth visiting the Blaca Desert - a monastery located in a difficult-to-reach place, the Dragon's Cave and the museum of the island of Brač in Škrip.
BEACHES
The island of Brač has a wide range of beaches, from the unique Zlatni rat in Bol, the most famous beach of the Adriatic, to the beautiful beaches on the south side of the island to numerous stone beaches suitable for nudists. Supetar has pebble beaches in the town itself, all beaches have natural shade and are very suitable for children. There is a large sandy beach in the bay of Vela luka. In Splitska there is the famous Zastup beach, in Postire there are two beaches in the town, in the bay of Prja and Mala Lozna. Between Postir and Pučišća is the famous sandy beach Lovrečina, which is visited by many tourists and sailors. Pučišća is located in a deep bay, so the beaches are protected from all winds and the sea is always calm. In Sutivan, there are pebble beaches in the town itself. Milna has a large pebble beach in the town itself. Swimming in the coves of Osibova, Lučice and Makarac is a special experience.
